Randi Hacker's Bonafides

I have over 30 years of professional editing experience. My BA is in English and my MA in TEFL, a degree that included many advanced grammar classes.  I have also completed the UC Berkeley Grammar and Usage for Editors class on line.  In addition to doctoral dissertations, I have edited more than two dozen academic papers and several books that have gone on to publication. I have written more than 25 books of my own including the YA novel Life as I Knew It (Simon & Schuster. 2006). Essays written with my ex-partner appeared in the New York Times Book Review, Punch and Spy Magazines. And P3, an environmental magazine for kids I co-created, won the Giraffe Award and empowered children to speak up on behalf of their home planet. From 2021 to 2024, I was the resolutions copy editor for the State of Vermont, a job that has forever damaged my relationship with the comma.
