Randi Hacker's Bonafides

I have over 30 years of professional editing experience. My BA is in English and my MA in TEFL, a degree that included many advanced grammar classes.  I have also completed the UC Berkeley Grammar and Usage for Editors class on line.  In addition to doctoral dissertations, I have edited more than two dozen academic papers which have gone on to publication in books and professional journals. I have written more than 25 books of my own including the YA novel Life as I Knew It (Simon & Schuster. 2006). My essays have appeared in the New York Times Book Review, Punch and Spy Magazines. P3, my environmental magazine for kids, won the Giraffe Award and empowered children to speak up on behalf of their home planet. I can often be found at my kitchen table early in the morning editing library books. With a pencil.
